Celebrities are beloved in society.
Their feats in fields like sports, acting, education, music, leadership, and their contributions to culture are just some of the reasons why the masses tend to idolize them.
That said, there are still some quarters who believe that most of them live in a bubble. While that may be true to some degree thanks to the vast amounts of wealth they’ve earned on their way to getting accolades, some of them aren’t all that different from the typical average Joe.
Sure, we all know plenty of celebrities who had to drop out of high school in pursuit of their careers. Then again, there are still a couple who had to grind hard to get to the very pinnacle of their careers. In fact, some of them went as far as getting a Master’s Degree or Ph.D.
Having shared that, it’s worth noting that some of these high achievers had a passion for a different career path before they made it big in the business. At the same time, some still continued to pursue an education while they were rich and famous.

It’s hard for many people to figure out just how Emma Watson was able to squeeze in some academic time during her Harry Potter days.
Determined as ever, Miss Watson was unperturbed by her busy schedule and found a way to couple her acting career with education. Thanks to the understanding team at Warner Bros, her schedule became a little bit more flexible and she managed to graduate from Brown University with a degree in English literature.
Most athletes simply go to school to work on their career. Only a tiny percentage of them actually pursue an education after they’ve made it big.
Some stars like Shaquille O’Neal are actually an exception to this rule. Even after he became a four-time NBA champion, he still proceeded to earn a doctorate degree at Barry University, Miami, in 2012. Interestingly, his thesis was about the value of human leadership.
Remarkably, he’s publicly shared that he’d like to become a motivational speaker at some point in his life before heading to law school. His preferred schools of choice? Georgia Tech or the John Marshall Law School.

After making his big break way back in 1999 in the critically acclaimed movie, Freaks and Geeks, James Franco has made a name for himself as one of the best actors in the industry.
In recent years though, he’s made waves a scholar thanks to his pursuit of higher education.
Not too long ago, he was able to get a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Columbia University. In 2010, made his way to Yale University to pursue a Ph.D. in English. He also holds a Master’s degree in filmmaking from New York University.
Long before he went on to occupy the highest office in the land, Donald Trump was actually a scholar. Having spent a majority of his youth learning the ropes on the real estate business from some of the finest American university teachers, he successfully managed to apply the lessons learned in the real world.
He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance before following his father’s passion in the real estate world.
Later on, he published a best-seller “The Art of the Deal”, which further cemented his status as a household name.
Having started out with the intention of leaving an indelible mark in history, we can rightly conclude that he’s been able to fulfill and surpass his wildest dreams.
Best known for his portrayal of Mr. Bean in a couple of movies, Rowan Atkinson is the polar opposite of his character in real life.
A quick look at his history will show you that he obtained a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Queen’s College Oxford in 1975.
It was during his pursuit of higher education and acting that he got his big break in 1976 after being featured in The Nine O’Clock News.

While many people know her thanks to her exploits on The Big Bang Theory as Amy Farrah Fowler, she also happens to be a real-life accomplished neuroscientist.
Enviably, she has a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from UCLA. Unlike most celebrities, she actually started as an actor way before she got her degree. With her first acting job coming at the age of 12, she used her gig on the Pumpkin Head to enhance her career. From that, she moved from strength to strength in her pursuit of success and has so far amassed four nominations on the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
Her story is one for the books since she started out as a child star and later on became an adult scholar. It’s safe to stay that she’s done it all.

With an incredible IQ of 160, Dolph Lundgren obtained a Chemical Engineering Master’s degree from the University of Sydney plus a Fulbright Scholarship at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Having a college degree has its rewards. Data analyzed from the Labor Department statistics by the Economic Institute in Washington shows that there’s a large pay gap between college graduates and everyone else.
While achieving celebrity status takes plenty of hard work and determination in the background, sometimes, it all boils down to one thing, luck. Having an education is a great fall back option in case the whole celebrity thing doesn’t pan out as you would like.
